This Privacy Policy describes how the Lumen Bible: Verse & Widget iOS app (the “App”) handles information you provide while using it. We are committed to keeping your data on your device.

What we collect

Almost nothing. Lumen Bible is designed to operate without a server. Specifically:

  • Your bookmarks, highlights, and favorite wallpapers are stored locally on your iPhone in the app’s App Group container. They never leave your device unless you explicitly use the Share feature.
  • Your reading streak and reading-plan progress are stored locally in iOS UserDefaults.
  • The language and translation you pick are stored locally in UserDefaults.
  • Notification preferences are stored locally; the notifications themselves are scheduled by iOS, not by our servers.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not require an account or sign-in.
  • We do not have analytics tracking your in-app actions.
  • We do not collect your name, email, location, or contacts.
  • We do not share or sell your information to anyone.

Third-party services

The App uses these third-party services for narrowly-scoped purposes:

  • RevenueCat — processes in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous user identifier from your device and the IAP transaction status. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
  • Apple App Store — processes the actual purchase. Apple handles your payment per its own terms.
  • api.bible (Pro feature) — if you subscribe and select a cloud translation (ESV, NLT, NASB), the App fetches verses from api.bible. The request includes only the verse reference; no personal information.

Permissions

  • Photo Library (write) — required to save verse wallpapers to your Photos when you tap Save. We never read existing photos.
  • Notifications — required to deliver daily verse reminders, streak reminders, and reading-plan reminders. Off by default.

Data retention

All locally-stored data persists on your device until you delete the App. Uninstalling the App removes all your data. We have no copy.

Children

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The App is rated 4+ and is appropriate for all ages, but we do not collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. The latest version will always be posted at this URL with an updated effective date.

Terms of Use Lumen Bible · Effective May 10, 2026 By installing and using the Lumen Bible: Verse & Widget iOS app (the “App”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App. 1. License The App and its underlying code are © 2026 Hung Pham.
