How do I add a widget to my Home Screen?

Long-press an empty area on your Home Screen → tap + in the top-left → search “Lumen Bible” → pick a size → drop it. Long-press the widget to configure translation and background.

How do I add a Lock Screen widget?

Long-press your Lock Screen → tap Customize → tap a widget slot → search “Lumen Bible” → pick Circular, Rectangular, or Inline.

Can I change the verse translation?

Yes. Open the App → Settings → Translation → pick from ASV, KJV, VN1926 (Vietnamese), RV1909 (Spanish), or Almeida (Portuguese). All five ship offline. Pro users can also pick ESV, NLT, NASB from api.bible.

Why are some translations marked Pro?

Public-domain translations (ASV, KJV, VN1926, RV1909, Almeida) are free for everyone. Modern translations like ESV, NLT, NASB are licensed through api.bible and require a Pro subscription to cover ongoing licensing fees.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the iOS Settings app → tap your name → Subscriptions → Lumen Bible → Cancel. You’ll keep Pro access until the end of your billing period.

I bought Pro on another device. How do I restore?

Open the App → Settings → Pro → tap Restore purchase. Make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID that made the original purchase.

How does the Meditate page work?

Tap Meditate on Today. Pick a session (Morning Prayer, Prayer for Sleep, Calm Anxiety, etc.). Each session bundles curated verses, a calming animated background, and ambient music. Verses auto-advance every 30 seconds (configurable in the gear icon).

Music keeps playing when I close the App. Is that intentional?

Yes. Lumen Bible supports background audio so your meditation isn’t interrupted when you put your phone down. Use the Now Playing controls on Lock Screen or Control Center to pause / resume / skip verses without unlocking.

How do I save a verse to share later?

Tap a verse in the Reader → choose Bookmark. Find it later in Library → Bookmarks. To save a wallpaper image, open the Wallpaper tab → tap the heart on a verse to add to favorites, or tap save to save the image to Photos.

The app is in English but my phone is set to Vietnamese.

Open the App → Settings → Language → pick Tiếng Việt or any of 9 other languages. Tab bar, menus, and book names will update.
